The Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) announced that Balochistan is currently experiencing rain and snowfall due to the arrival of a new weather system from Afghanistan. The department predicts that the region will witness a further decline in temperature and an increase in the speed of Siberian winds as the system takes hold.
The influence of this weather system is expected to extend to Karachi, where residents are bracing for colder temperatures and the effects of Siberian winds. The forecast indicates that the mercury in Karachi could drop to as low as 9 degrees Celsius, creating a wintry atmosphere in the usually temperate city.
The new winter wave is set to make its presence felt in Karachi starting from today (Monday), with the minimum morning temperature recorded at 13.5 degrees Celsius. As the day progresses, the Meteorologist Department warns that the speed of the winds in Karachi may intensify, reaching up to 25 kilometers per hour by the evening. Currently, winds are blowing at 18 kilometers per hour in the city.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe in the face of these changing weather conditions. The PMD will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as the winter wave unfolds across the region.
