The much-anticipated launch of Xiaomi’s electric car in Pakistan has been delayed, according to an official statement from Air Link Communication Ltd, Xiaomi’s local distribution partner. The postponement comes as soaring demand in China has led the company to prioritize deliveries in its home market before expanding internationally.
Air Link confirmed that while initial plans aimed for a 2025 rollout, the timeline has been extended as Xiaomi ramps up production capacity to meet overwhelming domestic orders. The company’s debut electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7, has already seen record-breaking sales in China, creating supply chain challenges that have impacted export schedules.
Industry analysts suggest the delay could be temporary, noting that Pakistan remains a key target market for Xiaomi’s global EV expansion strategy, especially given the country’s growing interest in affordable electric mobility.
Air Link reaffirmed its commitment to bringing Xiaomi’s smart car lineup to Pakistan, adding that a revised launch timeline will be announced once production stabilizes.
