Air Link Communication Ltd. is gearing up to assemble Xiaomi televisions within Pakistan, starting from January 2024. The collaboration, which initially focused on mobile phones, is expanding to TV production. Air Link CEO Muzzaffar Hayat Piracha highlighted the synergy between the assembly lines, minimizing the need for significant investment.
This move comes amid Pakistan’s positive economic trajectory, boosted by an IMF deal that doubled foreign exchange reserves to $8 billion. The IMF’s requirement to lift import restrictions has provided a boost to companies like Air Link.
Having transitioned from breaking even to becoming profitable in the last six months, Air Link’s success story continues. The company, initially a mobile phone distributor, aims to ramp up mobile phone production to 500,000 units per month by year-end, up from the current 300,000.
